A tower crane base is in place at the site of a mixed-use building under construction in the North Gulch.

Atlanta-based developer Pollack Shores Real Estate Group is hoping to have the building open in spring 2018 (read more here).

The company has enlisted Midlothian, Virginia-based Poole & Poole Architecture to design the as-yet-unnamed structure (pictured). In Nashville, P&P designed 23Hundred at Berry Hill and 11North in the North Gulch.

An estimated $80 million project, the building will include 367 upscale apartment units, about 9,000 square feet of retail space and a parking garage. Pollack Shores has not disclosed the orientation of the retail spaces. But the retail shops are expected to address 12th Avenue.

The 3.44-acre site is bounded by Church Street on the north, 12th Avenue on the east, Grundy Street on the south and George L. Davis Boulevard on the west.
