Multifamily real estate firm expansion progresses through proven experience and new divisions

ATLANTA, GEORGIA (June 29th, 2022) RangeWater Real Estate promoted veteran team member Bobbie Norris to the newly created role of Managing Director of Business Development. She formerly held the position of Senior Director of Business Development and her promotion signals RangeWater’s commitment to strategic growth as the company continues its aggressive expansion across the Sun Belt.

Norris joins two other women executives who recently were promoted: Executive Managing Director of Capital Markets Ashley Casaday and General Counsel Emily Sweitzer were promoted to the executive team, the first new appointments to the executive team in a decade, underscoring their key roles in the company.

Norris joined RangeWater in 2016 as Regional Director of the Carolinas. In 2018 she was promoted to Director of Property Management in Texas. She then established the company’s footprint in Texas, where RangeWater continues to experience strong growth today. She later moved back to the Carolinas to apply her savvy as Senior Director of Business Development for the country in conjunction with RangeWater’s strategic five-year growth plan, for which the multifamily developer and operator is well on its way to achieving.

Norris’ leadership, RangeWater has more than doubled the number of communities under management, from 176 in 2020 to 375 this year, and from 44,937 apartments in 2020 to 86,304 apartments currently. In 2022, RangeWater already has been awarded 110 communities or 23,044 apartments to date.

“As a company focused on development, acquisitions and property management, we bring an informed perspective to our third-party partners,” said Norris. “Ownership groups know they can trust our insights, depth of market knowledge and expertise because we’re uniquely aligned in our shared goals.”

Norris attributes RangeWater’s success to diversifying its portfolio with a new product types including build-to-rent neighborhoods – the Storia portfolio that now makes up 15 percent of RangeWater’s managed assets – as well as Olea, the age-targeted and age-restricted communities, and high-rise apartment management. Continuing to expand across the Sun Belt into new submarkets such as Salt Lake City and Phoenix has also contributed to the company’s aggressive growth strategy. She cites the company’s focus on creating authentic and fulfilling experiences at each development. Through its track record for success and meaningful commitment to culture, RangeWater offers its partners proven results.

“We’ve made significant investments in corporate culture, and it’s paid off with the strength and commitment of our team,” RangeWater chairman and CEO, Steven Shores said. “Our property management group brings RangeWater’s innovative, collaborative and experience-first approach to each partnership. Bobbie is a true asset to our leadership team as we propel forward and strategically expand across the Sun Belt.”

Privately owned RangeWater was founded in 2006. The company acquires, develops, manages and invests in multifamily communities across the Southeastern and Southwestern United States, with a $6.3 billion portfolio.

Prior to working at RangeWater, Norris worked with Camden Property Trust and Greystar. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Public Relations and English-technical writing from East Carolina University, and earned her Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor Designation (CAPS).
