Think the boom is over? Hundreds more apartments are coming to Charlotte
Press Release
Developers aren’t slowing down their plans for new apartments in Charlotte, with recently filed rezoning petitions showing plans for 630 more in fast-growing areas.
The two developments are on opposite sides of Charlotte, with one in the Northlake area and one in Steele Creek. Both are planned on vacant and largely wooded land. Charlotte City Council will hold hearings on the petitions and vote in the coming months.
Here’s a quick look at what’s planned:

Atlanta-based developer Pollack Shores is planning to build 330 new apartments on a site next to the Charlotte Premium Outlets mall.
The new apartments would be in 11 buildings, in a garden-style development along with a clubhouse. The site, near Dixie River Road and Shopton Road, totals 28 acres, and it’s close to Interstate 485.
The Steele Creek area has grown rapidly in recent years, with thousands of new houses and apartments, along with the outlet mall and the Berewick retail development. If approved, Pollack Shores plans to break ground in late 2018 and finish construction in late 2020.
